Quick answer
Use eAppeals to confirm the parcel-specific deadline and submit a complete petition. You still need a supported opinion of value and reasons the assessor's value does not represent true and fair market value.
Gather the petition facts before you begin
The portal is a filing system, not a substitute for the case. Have the parcel number, notice, assessor value, your requested value, representative information if applicable, and supporting evidence ready.
- Official Property Value Notice
- Parcel number and property description
- Assessor's value and your supported opinion of value
- Comparable sales or other market evidence
- Documents supporting restrictions or condition issues
Explain a valuation error, not only a higher bill
The Board reviews market value. A petition that only says taxes increased does not identify why the assessed value is wrong.
Connect each exhibit to the requested value. For comparable sales, explain meaningful differences instead of presenting nearby addresses without analysis.
Save the filing record and watch later deadlines
After filing, keep the confirmation and acknowledgment. The Board forwards the petition to the Assessor for review and later schedules the case based on volume and filing timing.
Additional evidence is generally due 21 business days before the hearing. A complete early submission gives the Assessor more time to evaluate the case and may support a reduction offer without a hearing.
